DRC is specialized in combating the phenomenon of desertification and erosion which happen as a result of the encroaching of desert sands on fertile lands, through the Egyptian National Action Program (NAP). This program is concerned with combating the phenomenon of desertification. As Egypt is one of the most vulnerable regions in the world to desertification, it suffers from human violations on agricultural lands, encroachment of deserts on vegetation, low rates of rainfall, deterioration of soil quality and high salinity of groundwater.
