As part of efforts to strengthen ties with academic and research institutions, Desert Research Center (DRC) signed a cooperation protocol with Arish University, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in North Sinai
The agreement, supported by Mr. Alaa Farouk , Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation , aims to unify scientific efforts and expertise to advance sustainable development, especially in desert regions
The protocol was signed by Dr. Hosam Shawky, President of DRC, and Dr. Hassan El-Demerdash, President of Arish University, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions
The agreement includes joint research projects, exchange of expertise, and technical consultations in areas related to agriculture, environment, and community development. Both sides emphasized the importance of linking scientific research with real-world challenges, particularly in border and desert areas
During the visit of Dr. Hassan El-Demerdash, President of Arish University his team make a tour in the research units at DRC, including water and soil analysis labs, the isotope measurement lab, the herbarium, and the tissue culture unit—highlighting DRC’s advanced research infrastructure and commitment to innovation
