Desert Research Center (DRC) participated in an international conference on Natural disaster risk reduction and resilience-building in Africa, held in Maputo, Mozambique. The delegation was led by Dr. Ahmed Abd El-Ati, who serves as the Executive Coordinator, Egypt’s representative to the Committee on Science and Technology, and lead negotiator for the African group, acting under the mandate of Dr. Hossam Shawky, President of DRC and National Focal Point for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
The participation came in response to an invitation from the African Union’s Semi-Arid Food Grain Research and Development (AU-SAFGRAD) center.
