Desert Research Center Strengthens Scientific Cooperation with King Salman University and National Research Centre in South Sinai Station

The South Sinai Research Station, affiliated with Desert Research Center (DRC), received a delegation from King Salman International University and the National Research Centre to explore avenues for enhanced scientific collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural development in the governorate

The visit was conducted under the directives of Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mr. Alaa Farouk and the instructions of DRC President Dr. Hossam Shawky

The meeting, attended by Dr. Abdel Ghany El-Gendy, Dean of the Faculty of Desert Agriculture, and Dr. Mai Allam, Head of the Plant Biotechnology Group, focused on applying research outcomes in real-world settings, exchanging expertise in agriculture adapted to Sinai’s environment, and providing technical support to local farmers

This collaboration aligns with DRC’s strategy to link scientific research with on-the-ground development, and reinforces integration between academic and research institutions in serving Egypt’s arid regions
