Desert Research Center continues to enhance agricultural development in North Sinai and integrate local residents into sustainable development programs through a scientific seminar titled “Field Crops and Their Importance Under North Sinai Conditions”, held under the patronage of Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mr. Alaa Farouk and Governor of North Sinai Major General Khaled Maghawer
Dr. Mohamed Ezzat, Vice President of DRC, emphasized that the event comes within the state’s efforts to support farmers in desert regions, improve land and water productivity, and raise farmers’ living standards
During the seminar, Dr. Hosam Abd El-Al, Head of the Sinai Integration Program, announced that 250 farmers were supported with free barley seeds from high-yield varieties tolerant to harsh environmental conditions, with research teams providing on-site technical guidance to ensure best agricultural practices
The event also included a community meeting with farmers to discuss their needs and the challenges facing agricultural development in the governorate, reaffirming continued cooperation between DRC and local authorities to achieve sustainable agricultural growth in Sinai
