Desert Research Center Enhances Quality System with Accreditation of Four New Laboratory Tests

In implementation of the directives of Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, to prioritize the development of the scientific research system in research centers, and to qualify research laboratories to conduct laboratory measurements according to the latest international standards, Dr. Hossam Shawky, President of Desert Research Center, announced that Water and Soil Analysis Unit, in DRC, using the ICP instrument, has received international accreditation for four new laboratory tests from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).

Shawky also announced the continued renewal of international accreditation for the Egypt Desalination Research Center of excellence (EDRC), Which is considered one of the leading centers in the Middle East in the field of water desalination technologies. In addition to the renewal of international accreditation for the Land Conservation Laboratory, in accordance with the ISO 17025:2017 standard for laboratory quality.

Shawky explained that this achievement raises the total number of internationally accredited laboratory tests at DRC laboratories to 17 tests. This reflects the center’s commitment to apply the highest standards of quality and efficiency in research and laboratory services, and support its role in serving sustainable agricultural development plans.
