Desert Research Center concludes its extension and veterinary convoys in Toshka to support and develop livestock in Aswan

Desert Research Center, in coordination with Toshka Research Station in Aswan Governorate, conducted a series of veterinary caravans as part of the “Genetic Mapping of Livestock Pathogens in the Western Desert and Southern Egypt” program.

This initiative was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ezzat, Vice President of DRC for Projects and Research Stations and Head of the “National Assignments” program.

The veterinary convoys were implemented in the villages of Al-Salam, and Al-Zuhour, as well as Toshka area in Aswan Governorate, with the aim of supporting livestock breeders in desert regions and enabling them to improve animal production and enhance the efficiency of herd health care.

The veterinary convoys provided a range of veterinary services, including examination and treatment of various diseases among sheep, goats, cattle, and camels. It also offered scientific recommendations and preventative guidance to combat common diseases in desert environments, in addition to distributing necessary veterinary medicines and supplies to the breeders.
