Dr. Hosam Shawky, President of Desert Research Center, has formed research teams to study, survey, and classify lands within Al-Dakhla project, East Owainat, covering an area of 800,000 feddans.
Shawky explained that this study is part of a series of comprehensive studies being conducted by DRC in desert regions across the country, within the framework of national projects for horizontal agricultural expansion.
The study includes assessing the suitability of the lands for agriculture and their productivity, in addition to determining the appropriate crop combinations for each area and calculating the required water quotas.
