Desert Research Center Launches the Program “Children’s University” as Part of its Tenth Phase Activities

Dr. Hossam Shawky, President of Desert Research Center, inaugurated the “Children’s University” program as part of the tenth phase activities. The program, organized within the framework of a cooperation protocol with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, was attended by 50 children and their parents, along with several researchers and staff members from the Center.

The program comes in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and in support of the state’s efforts to spread scientific culture among young children and develop their research and creative skills. This is achieved through an interactive educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application.

The program aims to disseminate scientific culture and promote scientific research among children, transforming curricula into applied activities and practical experiments in laboratories. It also aims to develop critical thinking skills and help children discover their talents and identify their academic and professional aspirations for the future.

On the sidelines of the opening, DRC organized two specialized workshops in the fields of energy and arts. The opening events witnessed an interactive atmosphere that reflected the children’s passion for learning and exploration. Through the energy workshop, the children learned about renewable energy and its applications, while the arts workshop allowed participants to express their ideas and creativity through various artistic activities, which contributes to develop their innovative skills and link scientific concepts with creative activities.
