As part of the Ministry’s commitment to develop work systems and enhance performance efficiency, Dr. Hossam Shawky, President of Desert Research Center, announced the renewal of the center’s ISO 9001 accreditation for the seventh consecutive year. DRC has also been registered with the Australian accreditation body JASANZ until 2029. This achievement reflects the center’s commitment to implement quality standards and raise the level of administrative and research performance.
The annual review committee discussed the administration’s vision and objectives in light of current challenges, as well as risk management mechanisms. They also inspected civil protection systems, workplace safety measures, infrastructure development, and the upgrading of buildings and facilities.
Dr. Hossam Shawky emphasized that the renewal of international accreditation is a culmination of the center’s ongoing efforts to develop its quality system and improve performance, thereby strengthening its ability to fulfill its research and service roles in the fields of land development, reclamation, and natural resource management.
President of DRC pointed out that this achievement coincides with the registration of 17 accredited laboratory tests by the Water and Soil Microanalysis Unit, the Egypt Desalination Research Center of excellence- EDRC, and the Soil Conservation Laboratory, on the website of the Egyptian Accreditation Council EGAC, in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality standard.
