Desert Research Center Showcases Research Activities to Uzbek Government Delegation at Maryout Research Station

As part of a high-level Uzbek government delegation’s visit to Egypt, and in support of agricultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, Dr. Mohamed Ezzat, Vice President of Desert Research Center (DRC) for Projects and Supervisor of Research Stations, met with Mr. Ilhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and head of the Uzbek delegation.

Representing the DRC President, Dr. Ezzat hosted the delegation at Maryout Research Station to showcase various research and applied activities and experiments conducted by the Center.

During a presentation, Desert Research Center highlighted key research activities at Maryout station, including tissue culture laboratories and advanced techniques for producing seedlings free from viral diseases.

The visit also included a tour of the artificial insemination center, where the delegation observed the process of collecting and selecting sperm from males with superior reproductive traits.

The delegation inspected the sheep and goat flocks and was briefed on ongoing research experiments, feed formulation and preparation systems, veterinary care, nutrition and housing protocols, as well as breeding and continuous selection programs.
