Desert Research Center Supports Farmers in Sinai Agricultural Communities with Modern Wheat and Barley Harvesting Equipment

In support of the state’s direction to expand wheat and barley cultivation, considered strategic crops in Egypt, and as part of providing support to farmers in desert and remote areas, and overcoming obstacles facing planting and harvesting operations, thus contributing to crop preservation, minimizing losses, and achieving the highest possible benefit for farmers, Desert Research Center has provided modern harvesting equipment to some agricultural and development Communities in South Sinai.

Dr. Emad Awad, General Coordinator of the Sinai Agricultural Communities Project, explained that the provision of harvesting equipment comes through the “Ask and Consult” initiative implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation through Desert Research Center.

The initiative works to provide scientific and technical guidance and communicates directly with beneficiaries to identify the problems they face and provide rapid support according to the needs of each Community.
