In accordance with the Desert Research Center’s research plan, the Research Stations Committee held a meeting at Mariout Station to review the implementation status of the stations’ plan and the objectives for the next phase.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Ezzat, Vice President of Desert Research Center for Projects and Research Stations, reviewed the most prominent achievements of the research stations in the past period, the results of implementing research programs and projects, and development and service activities. He also discussed the research plan for the new fiscal year and the stations’ needs.
The meeting included a presentation on the achievements and activities of New Valley Station and the efforts of Halaib and Shalateen Station in implementing research and development programs and serving local communities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Hossam Shawkey, President of DRC emphasized the continued monitoring of the research plan’s implementation and the commitment to address any obstacles facing the stations, thereby strengthening their role in supporting sustainable agricultural development.
He also stressed the importance of consolidating the scientific identity of DRC by producing seedlings and saplings of plant origins that are genetically documented according to scientific standards, which enhances confidence in the center’s outputs and supports its role in agricultural development and land reclamation projects.
