Major General Dr. Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh, conducted a field tour of several communities affiliated with the Sustainable Development Center for Matrouh Resources—part of the Desert Research Center—to oversee valley development and rainwater harvesting projects.
The tour covered Wadi Al-Raml (Al-Raml Valley) and Wadi Majid areas to inspect rainwater harvesting operations, concrete dams, and underground reservoirs.
The Governor directed that periodic monitoring, maintenance, and clearing be carried out for the dams, reservoirs, and rainwater harvesting structures to ensure their readiness ahead of the rainy season.
He also called for coordination between the Governorate, Desert Research Center, and relevant authorities to identify areas of greatest need and to expand projects that yield the most significant benefits for farmers and residents of desert communities.
The Governor also listened to the requests and feedback of several farmers, promising to address them as quickly as possible.
