The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation instructed to implement many development activities to integrate people of Sinai. Under directives of Prof. Dr. Abdallah Zaghlol, president of Desert Research Center, the research team at the Center started to implement a number of veterinary and guidance convoys in the areas of Wadi Al-Tar and Wadi Maktab, in Wadi Ferran region, in South Sinai, in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development.
Zaghlol stated that through the program, a number of development projects will be provided in the fields of poultry and bee breeding, and applying the environmental agricultural practices, that aimed at preserving natural resources, as well as dissemination of solar-powered home lighting technology, with the aim of raising awareness and improving Standard of living for citizens of Wadi Ferran.
Dr. Ehab Zagloul, Head of South Sinai Research Station added that in coordination with the Agricultural Directorate in South Sinai and with the support of Dr. Mohamed Shata, Director General of Agriculture in South Sinai, work teams examined and identified plant infestations scattered in the area for about 50 acres in the Maktab Valley. and pesticides and nutrients were provided to farmers and informed of the best safe and scientific methods of using those pesticides.
President of Desert Research Center also praised the continuous supporting of activities of Desert Research Center by Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, and his directives to coordinate and facilitate the task of the work team.
